In 1986, Dr. Stepan V. Lunin has introduces a novel method -
Direct Digital Simulation for gear design and development. Lunin’s method has been successfully applied for large
spiral bevel gear design and manufacturing. General Motors, Delphi Automotive, DAWALL Gear, Volvo, New Venture Gear, Dekel Mano (Gildmeister), Overton Gear and Chrysler have used Lunin’s DDS method for developing advanced gear design and manufacturing methods.
Our
technology is based on the integration of modern mathematical methods
with commonly available manufacturing machines. While our tooth cutting
process is different from the traditional tooth generating process, we
can deliver the tooth form identical to the traditional Gleason or
Klingelnberg tooth form. If the traditional tooth form is required, we
can enhance the results by adding small modifications for improvement
of the tooth contact and for reduction of the root stress. Similar
enhancements of the tooth geometry would be very expensive, if not
impossible, if the traditional gear generating process is used.
